Oct 28th - Out of the Woods

Almost lost. The road looks wide, but it's not going anywhere that isn't forest.
Of course, the forest can be a good thing. We do find a field, and a marsh, or really a beaver pond. A pond more like a sizeable lake. A big beaver lake.

Click the flash-movie link on the right, it opens a separate small web-page, let the flash-movie buffer-up, then click the 'start' buttons to get it playing.

No really big beavers about. Not even small ones.
But they're here somewhere. We just can't see them.
But we can feel their eyes. They can see us.

Oct 26th- Just before the frost

Nothing like a bunch of birds in a feeding frenzy to make staffers turn & watch.
Still not sure what kind of plant or weed this is;
seem to be a few around the complex but only one this 'big';
it produces berries that ripen in early to mid fall;
inedible to staffers but certainly attractive to birds.

Click the flash-movie link on the right, it opens a separate small web-page, let the flash-movie buffer-up, then click the 'start' buttons to get it playing.

These were mostly robins with a few wax-wings mixed in. One moment there's a crowd, next moment everyone's gone.
Tried for a close up, but the birds were not cooperating.

Oct 24th - Cycling to the Fire Tower

Fall's coming to an end.
An 'ending' just asking for that slow walk (or ride).
This is one short way up the mountain.
Just 'quicker' in a slow way.
Listen closely to hear the sounds of bikes working
their way up the distant back road. (and 'yes',
this mountain does have a road on the other side,
going almost to the top)

Click the flash-movie link on the left, it opens a separate small web-page, let the flash-movie buffer-up, then click the 'start' buttons to get it playing.

Sort of the end of this season and the end of the sunshine moods

Oct 19th - Counting Cows

Downhill. Riding the bikes fast. Two hands on the camera.
She counts the cows. The trees zip by. And that van...too close.
Gotta drive too. With still another hand? No fireball XL5 here

Click the flash-movie link on the right, it opens a separate small web-page, let the flash-movie buffer-up, then click the 'start' buttons to get it playing.

I'm not Steve, nor is she Venus.
But Colonel Zodiac still rides (or flies, I mean)

Oct 16th - Song Sparrow Meditation

Hmmmmm. Just taking a moment to give it a thought.
See it. Listen. Feel. Both the warmth and the coolness.

Click the flash-movie link on the right, it opens a separate small web-page, let the flash-movie load, then double click the 'start' buttons to get it playing.

What's this mean? Winter's coming?
Or the winning numbers are 3, 8, 11, 29, 32 and ??
Or maybe just 'gotta leave now.....'?

Perhaps none of the above.

Oct. 12th - The Fall in Fog

Fun in the fog.
Grab the wheel, get on the road, enjoy a quick ride.
Watch out for moose & deer. Watch those colors change.

Pick a morning wake-up opera....
Rigoletto's always a good driving 'sing along'.
Don't want to be late, at least not too late.

Click the flash-movie link on the left,
it opens a separate small web-page,
let the flash-movie buffer-up,
then click the 'start' buttons to get it playing.
Sing along if you wish.

Early morning fun.
Not too many people watching.

Oct 9th - looking for fall color

Moving fast, looking for that fall color....not much of that around this lake yet. Gotta watch the road too, it twists a bit.
Won't be much fun if we ended up in the lake.
Could be a good video........but that water's
really cold now. Maybe another time

Click the flash-movie link on the right, it opens a separate small web-page, let the flash-movie buffer-up, then click the 'start' buttons to get it playing..

And we're late for that appointment.......again

Oct 4th - Working Ducks

Gee, certainly can tell Fall's arrived. At the Five Islands Lobster Co in Maine (kinda opposite Bath) they're only open weekends and not many more at that.
It's going to be the end of good lobster rolls for awhile. And we knew they were closed, but a good ride's a good time anyway. Better than real work.

Click the flash-movie link on the left, it opens a separate small web-page, let that flash-movie buffer-up, then click the 'start' button to get it playing..

So, we sit and watch the ducks at work. This is a real working lobster dock and everyone gets into the act.
Except us. We're figuring maybe back to Wiscasset. Maybe no line by the time we get there. Good food. Maybe no job either, if we don't get back to work. But lunch is an important party of the business day.

Sept 30th -- More Waves......

By the seacoast, find a good comfortable location, watch the waves come. Maybe break into an aria from 'Alkid' for no reason at all.
People will leave you alone then. Should be working, doing the overtime, getting that other job done. But today these waves need watching.

Click the flash-movie link on the left, it opens a separate small web-page, let the flash-movie buffer-up, then click the 'start' button to get it playing. Watch those waves.

Time to hit the road. Other people are waiting. You sort of have promises to keep.

Well, just another minute or two. There's traffic & crowds and peepers, and traveling will take time and time is what we're taking here.
