"Really?" she asked in that questionable way of hers.
"No, not really,"  I replied, "Someone else put it together."
"I just wrote the lyrics," I added.
It took her a few moments, but finally she smiled a "Yeah, right."

Eleven Pink Lady Slippers.....

"All in the front yard??"  she said with that cannot-be-true tone.
"Yes," I replied, "all in the front yard, under small trees and alongside bushes."
"But just pink ones," she countered, "no yellows, no rare yellow ones, right?"
That answer was no.    And my silence was an adequate response.
I had the eleven pink lady slippers.
