Hawk ..episode 4 ...the jay

Two can be a crowd, even in the deep woods.
This blue jay was not welcoming a visitor
The hawk pretty much just ignored the noise.
Maybe tossed a nasty stare toward the jay too.
The hawk had other plans, places to go and ......
Well, we missed that last part....
A hawk can sit & focus for a surprisely long time
And we were easily distracted.

Hawk ...episode 3 - fly off

Spring trees, strong breeze.
Waiting for a fly off,
Waiting & waiting.......
She seemed to 'hang' for ever
Then just in moment,
off & out of camera range.
So nothing too dramatic here

Hawk episode 2 .....sunshine

Good spring day, slight breeze, sun,
and this broad winged hawk
was on the search. A lot of looking,
a few long stares, a lot of waiting.....
(we were getting tired)
At last it seemed to be almost something....
maybe not....or maybe yes?
Then in a moment she was gone

Second Wind........boating

ahh, the ocean and a good spring day
the waves, the boat, the lobsters
still lots of fun
and lots of sun

First wind.....spring sailing

Quite cold on the lake today
yet the good breeze brings out
the first sailors working the
winter rust away.

Just the beginning of spring
the start of fun in the sun
oh and more leaves to follow
Central New Hampshire

little bird talking to big bird

Overhead, jet flying by.
Ground level, animated bird talk.
Sounds everywhere.
Easy to see the big bird.
Difficult to spot the little ones.

Hawk watching

Just sitting, enjoying the warm spring day.
Then she arrives, high up a tree.
Not concerned with us, as if we were not
there at all. Something else has her attention.
She waits. Waits quite a long time.
The a flutter, to wing, to the ground.
A tussle? She leaves empty handed.

Spring Dancing.....

Planning to focus on still life, blossoming spring
flowers & the woods awakening to the warmer
season, instead got sidetracked when this guy
came strutting down the road.
He seemed to be distracted momentarily first by
a bush, then a rock, & next a tree.
Yet finally he caught sight of her and her friends
just up a hill.
And the dancing chase continued.
